On May 30, 2010, a new beginning for the Macedonian community was born. The Macedonian Lions team was created in continuation of the former Macedonian league, which has allowed the Macedonian community to come together, young or old, and watch the beautiful game of, as we know it, football. Without the persistance and support for this great soccer team from Christopher Antanasovski, Alexander Ancevski, Chris Tantalovski, and Stevie Mantzuaranis, and all of our supporters which include Sv. Clement, Triple ‘A’ Cheese, Queen Victoria’s, and Nakka Web Design, this team would not have been possible. The Macedonian Lions consists of 25 players who have the desire not only to play soccer, but also to support their own Macedonian community towards success. The team has been through many ups and downs, through losses and wins, and through especially their hardest loss of a former teammate, Anthony ‘Keyz’ James, who will be forever remembered on this team as a great player with a big smile. The Macedonian Lions is currently in the MJ league in hopes of making it up the ranks into a higher division. The need for the Macedonian community to come out to each and every game is crucial. Without the supporters and fans that sit on the sidelines each and every week, the Macedonian Lions would also not be able to do it without them. The continued support of everyone is greatly appreciated. Come out and support the Macedonian Lions as they roar to the top.
